A Northern Goshawk has been seen as recently as 01-21-10 long US-131 just north of I-94.
The goshawk is on the “concern” lists of several resource agencies, including the Michigan Department of Natural Resources’ (where it is designated Special Concern), the U. S. Forest Service’s Eastern Region Sensitive Species List, and the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service's List of Nongame Migratory Birds of Management Concern.
